Shovelglove: The Sledgehammer Workout

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your “shovelglove.” Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays.

And yes, there is a secret menu. Ordering a “Flying Dutchman” (which is not on the regular menu) will get you two meat patties with two slices of melted cheese, and nothing else on it. Ordering “Protein Style” will get you a burger with lettuce and no bun.The coolest: a “20 by 20” - 20 beef patties with 20 slices of cheese.

I’ve included a picture of the 20×20 to whet your appetite. Wow, talk about a heart attack on a bun.

Ray Earhart’s Floor Desk: Way cool — and you can make it yourself

This does look way cool. I wonder if the wife would approve of computing in bed. I’m guessing so as long as I build her one too.

Painkiller found in human saliva

Natural-born painkiller found in human saliva - health - 13 November 2006 - New Scientist

When the researchers injected a pain-inducing chemical into rats’ paws, 1 gram of opiorphin per kilogram of body weight achieved the same painkilling effect as 3 grams of morphine.

3 grams of morphine per kilogram of body weight? At that dose it would take about 4 oz of morphine to dull my pain. Think maybe they mean milligrams? A quick google tells me that a typical dose of morphine for an adult is 4-10mg intravenously.

Butter Fried Krispy Kreme Donuts | Family Resource (FamilyResource.com)

Several months ago I was visiting my grandmother in Kingsport, TN and discovered the most delicious food ever! I awoke one morning and found her frying a Krispy Kreme donut. My immediate response was, “that’s disgusting!” She told me to hold off until I had tasted it. She was right, it was the most delicious heart-stopping food I’d ever had. After one bite, all of the fancy desserts I’d eaten before had completely disappeared from my memory.

Yum?

DO NOT EAT PRINGLES FAT FREE POTATO CHIPS

I tried out these Pringles Fat-Free chips because they were super low-cal. BBQ flavor. the fuck.

The can said they had 70 calories per serving, which meant the whole can had 490 calories inside total. I could munch through a can in a day with my lunch, dinner, etc. So I got several cans, and began enjoying one a day for the past four days. But what they dont fucking tell you…

BBC NEWS | Health | Tea ‘healthier’ drink than water

The work in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition dispels the common belief that tea dehydrates.

Tea not only rehydrates as well as water does, but it can also protect against heart disease and some cancers, UK nutritionists found.

IV Plant Watering Pot

Filed under: Health, Stupid Products — anton @ 10:16 am

Vitamin, A Life Less Ordinary

Great idea if you’re plants need a morphine drip. They’re asking 150 pounds for it so this is another product I’ll never see in person. Maybe I could dumpster dive the local hospital and make these out of discarded bed pans and IV bags?

This self-watering plant pot’s main feature is a
medical drip feed. This unique characteristic allows
the plant to be nourished with water and food as it
is required. The drip feed provides a striking design
focus as well as acting as a reminder to its owner as
to when it needs topping up.

X-Entertainment: The Worst Breakfast Ever.

Mmmm, mmmm, good. Blow half your daily calories on a soggy microwaved breakfast.

The ‘justification’ is that you’re supposed to eat shitty food in the morning, as it supplies you with a suitable amount of energy to get through the day. Unfortunately, Swanson’s supplying you with enough ‘energy’ to get through a week,

Yum?

Eat it, of course! In my book, food without danger is like sex with a condom: it goes in the same entrance, but the experience is altogether less thrilling, less memorable, indeed less satisfying. I fetch the ice cream from the freezer, scoop out a chunk, and admire its pinky goodness.
