I love flickr! I love flickr!

Flickr ROCKS!

Look what I found in my inbox a few minutes ago.

Hi!

You may have heard on the grapevine that we planned to
reward our dear Flickr members who bought a Pro Account in
the early days. Well, it’s true! And since you’re one of
those lovely people, here’s a little something to say YOU
ROCK!

1. Double what you paid for!
Your original 1 year pro account has been doubled to
2 years, and your new expiry date is Feb 28, 2007.

2. More capacity!
Now you can upload 2 GB per month.

3. 2 free Pro Accounts to give away to your friends!
This won’t be activated for a day or two, but when it
is, you’ll see a note on your home page telling you
what to do.

Thank you so much for putting your money where your mouth
is and supporting us, even while we’re in beta. Your
generosity and cold, hard cash helped us get where we are
today.

Kind regards,
The Flickreenies.

Where To Find Great Free Photographs And Visuals For Your Own Online Articles - Robin Good’s Latest News

Handy reference if you’re doing any graphics or web design.

Finding quality images and photos for complementing an important article, essay or news report is already quite a challenge for many. Imagine when the goal is not just too find good images, but find some that you could openly and freely use without needing to pay royalties or one-time publishing rights to someone.

Sorry if I am slow on this one. Kinda cool if you are used to photoshop.

For those who don’t already know, the Gimp is a powerful, open source image editing application. For more info on the Gimp visit gimp.org. GIMPshop is essentially the same program with some cosmetic changes.

The Gimp’s menu structure and naming conventions had been a constant source of frustration for me because I was so used to Photoshop.

Transparent Screens - A HowTo

The first thing to make sure of is that you have good consistent light. This is very important and helps down in the final steps of the process. To make it the easiest, you also should use a tripod. Once you choose the setup, DON’T MOVE ANYTHING!

A buddy icon I found, and James helped modify.

Colorization Using Optimization

Colorization Using Optimization

How cool is this?

Colorization is a computer-assisted process of adding color to a monochrome image or movie. The process typically involves segmenting images into regions and tracking these regions across image sequences. Neither of these tasks can be performed reliably in practice; consequently, colorization requires considerable user intervention and remains a tedious, time-consuming, and expensive task.
