Business Opportunities Weblog | How Much Is My Blog Worth
Interesting measure of a blog’s worth.
I’ve created this little applet using Technorati’s API which computes and displays your blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.

ReadyMade: Feature - Boy Scout Napkins
One person’s internal debate on which folding method is best.
Factory-folded button-down shirts-the overstarched ones you resort to buying Dad for the holidays at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s-creep me out with their cardboard inserts and Frankenstein-ish silver pins. Such excessive rigging has always underscored my long-held belief that shirts are nearly impossible to fold perfectly by hand.

Grizzly Death
Remind me to bring my uzi and rocket launcher next time I go hunting in Alaska!
The guy emptied his 7mm Magnum semi-automatic rifle into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him. The big bear was still alive so the hunter reloaded and shot it several times in the head.

Talkr — Letting blogs speak for themselves
Pretty interesting .. I guess if you don’t have time to read your sites, and you have the listening time, this is the way to go. The text-to-speech is pretty good. It knows ‘CSS’ is ’see-ess-ess’ not ‘csuss’ like older software would. It flows and enunciates very good.
What is Talkr? Talkr allows you to listen to text-only blogs on your iPod.
Talkr podcasts the blogs you love (and the ones you hate, too).

You’re It!
A blog discussing tags. Nothing much on there now, besides introductions of the writers, but it could prove to be a good resource. Jonas dosen’t think it is, yet, but who knows.

Wordpress Plugin Competition Blog
My first entry to the WordPress plugin contest over at Weblog Tools Collection. If you have an unreleased plugin head on over and enter it into the contest!
I’ve been using a hacked together form of this plugin for a few months on lr2.com. This contest prompted me to get off my duff and clean up the code, add some automatic setup and fix the error handling.

A Directory of Dell Things.
Very nice parody, amazing attention to detail.
What’s more boring than watching lights turn on and off? Watching paint dry, of course, and that’s what 2001 Turner Prize winner Martin Creed wants you to do as part of his latest entry in the prestigious British art competition.

Jeffrey Zeldman Presents The Daily Report
Zeldman has a good article on making a business around your blog.
Should your blog have a business?
Another favorite panel at this year’s SXSW Interactive was “How to Build Your Brand With Blogs,” hosted by Blog Business Summit’s DL Byron (AKA the Clip-n-Seal® guy). What made this panel for me was a comment by Jim Coudal, founder and chief macher of Coudal Partners, who said:

Link Right 2 » lr2Spam
I’m releasing my comment spam counter measures as a Wordpress plugin. Check it out if you’re looking for an easy way to prevent comment spam. To date I have not received any comment spam to his site, although at last 10-20 bots try every day.
A simple plugin that virtually eliminates comment spam. Prevents blind posting by adding a dynamic hidden field to the form and validating that field when posted.
