WonderlandChristmas.com - Wizards of Winter
Evidently some people thought the Christmas lights syncronized to “Wizard in Winter” were fake. The creator has made the Light-O-Rama sequence available and gives a brief tutorial on how to set it up. I was surprised to find that the hobbyist boards were somewhat inexpensive at the low price of $185 each.
If you are doubter, or just want to learn more about this video, feel free to follow the instructions below. It will show you the program in action, and how the display was really built.

Computer Christmas has a lot of info on their forum:

I would guess that the Wizards of Winter could be done with a 32 channel system, or two of the 16 channel Light-O-Rama boards.
If that sounds too expensive, there are quite few plans on the net for building your own light controller.
