Atom Chip Corporation

If it walks like a hoax and talks like a hoax, then it must be a hoax. Be sure to check out the Industrial Products page. You’d think they’d use something other than a Radio Shack Headphone plug for their 24GB NvIOp RAM.

Atom Chip Corporation is a research & development company for new computer designs. The company has developed a series of new Quantum and Quantum-Optical devices for storing and processing information in a way that permits high-speed data accessibility, with a high degree of reliability, non-volatility, and extremely high-density in an extremely compact size. Steve Minutillo :: messy-78 — Is this the final blow in the Doppler wars?

Will the dopler wars ever end?

Have you noticed the ongoing arms race among local news broadcasts, trying to outdo each other with new generations of doppler radar? One station started out with plain old Doppler Radar. But that wasn’t enough. The station across town decided to make it sound better by calling it Super Doppler, or Mega Doppler.

Katrina Timeline

Makes you wonder why Bush is in charge of the investigation on how badly he failed at providing assistance.

Wednesday, August 31
5PM BUSH GIVES FIRST MAJOR ADDRESS ON KATRINA: “Nothing about the president’s demeanor… which seemed casual to the point of carelessness — suggested that he understood the depth of the current crisis.” [New York Times]

Urban Dead - A Massively Multi-Player Web-Based Zombie Apocalypse

A pretty cool text/web -based MMORPG .. err MMPWBZA? Who doesn’t like zombie games, anyway?

The city is dying. Some months on from the first reported outbreak, military quarantine units have closed Malton’s borders, and are moving in to eliminate the looters, to forcibly evacuate those civilians who still refuse to leave their homes.

The city is dying, and the urban dead are filling its streets.
Urban Dead is a browser-based, grid-mapped multi-player game where you play the survivor or victim of a zombie outbreak in a quarantined city centre.

ImprovedSource - Boot Fedora Linux Faster: How I Modified Fedora To Boot In Under 25 Seconds

Trying this tonight on my FC4 box.

Everyone wants a quick boot time, from the beginner user to the advanced user, this is a issue that bothers us all. As Linux has advanced it has increasingly become slower to boot. I have tested on my machine 4 Linux distributions: Linspire, Fedora 3 & 4, Suse 9.2 & 9.3, and Debian. And on average between all these distributions Linux needs around a minute to 1 and half minutes to go from boot loader to graphical login screen.

Hurricane Katrina - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia story about Hurricane Katrina.

I spent the weekend in Galveston where my parents and sister are helping with a Red Cross shelter. The stories that many of these people have to tell are amazing beyond words. If you are in a position to help, please do.

Hurricane Katrina, one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history, devastated the Gulf Coast of the United States from New Orleans, Louisiana to Mobile, Alabama. Katrina made landfall in the early morning of 29 August 2005. The hurricane is believed to have killed thousands of people, and known to have displaced more than 1 million a humanitarian crisis on a scale unseen in the U.S. since the American Civil War.

PocketMod: The Free Disposable Personal Organizer

PocketMod: The Free Disposable Personal Organizer

A little more polished than the “hipster pda” that was running around a couple months ago.

The PocketMod is a new way to keep yourself organized. Lets face it, PDA’s are to expensive and cumbersome, and organizers are bulky and hard to carry around. Nothing beats a folded up piece of paper. That is until now. With the PocketMod, you can carry around the days notes, keep them organized in any way you wish, then easily transfer the notes to your PDA, spreadsheet, or planer.
