Peterson Tuners - Beer Bottle Organ

This looks like it’d be a lot of fun to play. They can custom make them with any brand of beer bottle you’d like. Be sure to listen to the Eleanor Rigby demo.

The cart version of the now famous line of Peterson Bottle Organs recently premiered at a minor league ball park in the Chicago area. www.wcThunderBolts.com. Jerry Misch of Hayes Beer, distributors of the Leinenkugel beer in the area www.leinie.com informed Peterson that there was going to be a Leinie Lodge at the ball park. Misch was aware of previous versions of the bottle organ and thought it would be a great addition for the Leinie Lodge and so the newest in the bottle organ line was hatched.

I wonder how the cost compares to, say, Ikea.

FedEx Furniture is furniture put together by empty FedEx Boxes,
and held together by fedex packaging supplies. All of the furniture
seen here is 100% functional. The couch is standing/sleeping approved,
I sleep on the bed every night, I eat at the dining table, and I work
at the desk almost 20 hours a day.

MilesTag - DIY Laser Tag System

MilesTag - DIY Laser Tag System

Last weekend my nephew had a laser tag party to celebrate his 12th birthday. It was my first time playing, and despite flakey guns and vests, it was a blast and a great workout. I was wondering then what it would take to make a home grown system to play. By chance, MAKE posts this link on their site a few days later.

MilesTag is the product of our ongoing efforts to design a high-quality, full-featured “laser tag” gaming system that is comparable to the best commercial systems on the market (honestly, we think it already surpasses most of those systems in both capability and flexibility) and can be built from readily- available parts for a fraction of the cost of a commercial system.

Distracto: ServerSideWiki

Interesting. Powered by RubyonRails. Might be time to look at setting it up soon.

This is one killer web application, and something I’ve been specifically waiting for ever since I first tried out TiddlyWiki some months ago. It’s called ServerSideWiki — it’s a centralized version of TiddlyWiki.

Creationists’ Periodic Table of the Elements

This is quite funny in light of the rekindled creation vs evolution debate.

Loren Williams is a professor of biology and chemistry at Georgia Tech, and has published a prior version of the table on the reDiscovery Institute’s website.

Techdirt:Forget Hot Coffee… Those Naked People In The Sims Are The Downfall Of Society

Jack Thompson, the “blame the video game lawyer”, is at it again with a law suit against EA because someone released a nudity mod for The Sims. He wants the game rated M for mature. While we’re at it, let’s hit Office Depot and restrict all the note pads and pens and pencils because somone may sketch some nudity.

You can pretty much see the steam rising from the spokesperson who responded from EA: “This is nonsense. Reasonable people understand there is nothing improper in the game. Reasonable people recognize what mods are… Reasonable people understand the San Jose Mercury News is not responsible for vulgar things that people doodle into the margins of the paper.” Indeed. But, it often seems like we’re seeing fewer and fewer reasonable people around these days.
