Dimes20Must20Die

Hahahaha. The picture MUST be moused over.

Dimes are the stupidest form of currency ever invented. This web site0A is dedicated to my utter hatred for Dimes. My goal is to eliminate Dimes0A from society. I ask that you send me all your Dimes so that I can use0A them to fund an anti-Dime movement.

Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch. Ouch.

The “product“ is a kind of protection against rape, somewhat similar to a tampon in that it’s user carries it inserted into her vagina. The basic idea is that the woman carries the protective device in her vagina. In it there is a sharp pin which has a penetrating effect on the perpetrator’s penis in the event of a rape. The construction is such that the pin still cannot injure the bearer.

Useful CSS features. They don’t seem to work with all browsers, but it’s something to think about if you have a captive audience.

This an old entry that I am resurrecting since I am sure many of us need a reminder of these two useful CSS classes.

eBay item 3974264194 (Ends 23-May-05 17:30:00 BST) - National Treasure- Worlds Oldest Levi’s 501 jeans 1890

I’ve always though Levi’s jeans were a bit over priced, but this is nuts.

This is the pair you’ve all been waiting for…discovered in March, 1998, by 4 modern day explorers…This is a “real”, authentic pair of Levi’s LOT “501″ blue jeans from their first production run in 1890. (This is the pair that all those “reproductions” were fashioned from…)

PublicRadioFeeds.com

Cool idea, pulling a bunch of public radio feeds into one location. Includes links to XML for your subscribing pleasure. Unfortunately I didn’t see This American Life by Ira Glass. Guess I’ll have to keep transcoding their files from Real to mp3.

ESA Portal - New collision looks imminent for B-15A iceberg

Pretty amazing that a piece of ice that large can just float around. B-15A is almost 100 miles long and covers over over 1500 square miles.

The mammoth B-15A iceberg appears poised to strike another floating Antarctic ice feature, a month on from a passing blow that broke off the end of the Drygalski ice tongue. As this Envisat image reveals, this time its target is the ice tongue of the Aviator Glacier.

UTARC UX-1 Balloon Launch

UTARC UX-1 Balloon Launch

Another amatuer balloon. This one made it to 52k feet. Article includes a good story and links to equipment.

Dan (K2VOL) and I originally decided we wanted to launch a balloon in the Spring of 2003. We had seen a few articles about hams launching balloons, visited a few websites about their adventures, and thought it sounded like something we’d like to get into. We made plans, did some research, and then life intervened.

The Cult of Mac Blog

Fear it.

Collin Allen dropped his iPod and ruined its hard drive, so he’s in the process of replacing it with a full-size hard drive from a desktop computer.
